During the opening of the Havana Biennial, we had the privilege of meeting a group of young creatives from Havana’s graffiti, punk, tattoo, and skate scenes. This vibrant community, centered around the band Kubensi Art Family, is a diverse and talented group of artists, musicians, and cultural leaders. From the start, we felt an inspiring connection with them, fueled by a shared passion for creativity, collaboration, and a love for creating spaces that bring people together.

After completing our Biennial projects, we were invited to create a mural on the rooftop that is both the home of the Kubensi Art Family and their cultural and social hub in Old Havana. Over the course of two unforgettable days, we worked together to bring this project to life. The atmosphere was magical – filled with music, laughter, and an incredible sense of togetherness. Everyone in the group played a role in completing the mural, which made the experience even more meaningful.

For us, connecting with local subcultures and collaborating with communities is what gives our work purpose. This project was a celebration of shared creativity, cultural exchange, and the power of art to unite people across different backgrounds.
